Watch autosave
Make a small edit and watch the saving indicator.
Wait before closing
Wait for saving to finish before closing the editor.
Use Preview
Use Preview to inspect layout and appearance changes.
Publish when ready
Choose Publish changes when the draft layout is ready for visitors.
If saving fails
If saving fails, use Retry and review the error before choosing Reload saved version.
Expected Results
Saved data is retained. A red Unpublished layout changes notice with a circled exclamation mark identifies draft differences. Publish changes applies the saved layout to the public viewer.
Tips and Limits
Point and house values, statuses, images, icons and assignments are live. Placements, backgrounds, map styling, camera settings, text-label and leader-line settings, and popup-field visibility require publishing. Reload saved version can discard unsaved changes. Preview does not isolate edits to existing live records.
Effect on Public Viewer
Mixed. Refer to the publication note in each article. Do not assume Preview isolates edits to existing live records.
