A Google Map background shows live satellite (or hybrid) imagery for your development. Use it when you want geographic context for lots, overlays and points, then save a starting view before you publish.
You need a Pro project and a working Prevue Maps connection. You do not enter your own Google API keys — Prevue manages that centrally. Address search only works when geocoding is enabled on Prevue’s Maps setup; latitude and longitude entry always works. Google’s map attribution stays visible on the map.
Open Backgrounds and add a Google Map
Open Map, then Backgrounds. Choose Add Google Map. Wait for the satellite map to load.
Open Map settings
Open Map settings for the new Google Map background so you can set the location and framing.
Enter the location
Enter a location as latitude and longitude, or use address search when that option is available. Choose Find location.
Frame the map
Pan and zoom until the development sits where you want it in the view. Check that the area you need is clearly visible.
Save the starting view
Choose Save starting view so visitors open on this framing when the map loads.
Add your overlay or points, then publish
Add your transparent plan overlay and place records when ready. Preview the viewer, then publish so the Google Map background and its saved settings appear on the public map.
Expected Results
The project has a geographic satellite or hybrid background managed through Prevue.
Tips and Limits
Prevue manages the Google connection centrally. Ordinary project users do not enter their own API keys. Address lookup requires Geocoding API to be enabled and allowed on the configured key; coordinate entry works without address lookup. Maps need network access and Google’s attribution remains visible.
Effect on Public Viewer
Publish to add the map and its saved settings to the public viewer.
