Let Prevue create IDs for new point or house records. Prevue generates a new identity for each non-empty new row.
You need editor access to the project. Do not invent IDs for new records.
Start from a current export
Start with a current Prevue Excel export so the expected workbook structure is present.
Add new rows
Add each new record to the appropriate Points or Houses worksheet.
Leave Unique ID blank
Leave Unique ID blank on new rows and fill the supported data fields.
Import and confirm New
Import the workbook and check that those rows are listed as New in the review. Confirm the import, then re-export the workbook to obtain the generated IDs.
Place and publish
Place any new points on the map and publish their placements.
Expected Results
Prevue generates a new identity for each non-empty new row. Completely empty rows are skipped.
Tips and Limits
Do not invent IDs for new records. Reimporting the same blank-ID rows as a new import creates additional records; use the re-exported IDs for later updates. Retrying the same import operation is protected separately against duplicates. Google Sheets has a different ID requirement.
Effect on Public Viewer
New points start unplaced. They need a published placement to appear publicly.
